Around 1,322 BC Hydro customers are without power this morning due to five power outages taking place in Hope, Spuzzum, and Boston Bar.

One of their affected customers is the Boston Bar Elementary and Secondary School (BBESS) which is closed today due to having no electricity.

BC Hydro crews have been onsite (or, in the case of Boston Bar, are heading onsite) since Monday night (Jan. 8) and early Tuesday morning (Jan. 9). They are currently working to bring back power to the affected areas.

According to BC Hydro, North-South-East-West of Highway 3, the outage north of 7th Avenue (Yale area) and the outage north of the Trans Canada Highway (Spuzzum) were caused by trees falling across the wires.
