Ashcroft RCMP are asking residents of Ashcroft and the surrounding area to be aware of recent break-ins and thefts in the area.
It appears that the thief or thieves are targeting houses which appear to be unoccupied. People are asked to keep an eye on their neighbours’ properties. If you are going to be away, have someone you trust keep watch on your residence.
At this time of year many homes have extra valuables in the form of gifts, and thieves will look for an opportunity to steal them.
A male in dark clothing and a hoodie was seen running from an area home. Evidence was obtained at the scene, and police are actively investigating a break and enter that occurred overnight on Dec. 17 at a residence near the Ashcroft HUB.
