passed away July 4, 2006 following surgery at the University Of Utah Hospital.

Carroll was born September 25, 1932 at the Brill Homestead, Becker County, Northern Minnesota. His parents were Alfed (d.1986) and Alice (d.1999). His growing up years were busy and happy, helping with chores on the farm. Milking cows, feeding the chickens, cows, pigs and horses. Also learned to drive tractor at a very young age which may have lead to his later livelihood. Spent some time attending agriculture school (not for him) and graduated from Park Rapids High School in 1951.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and spent four years in Japan as an airplane mechanic. Worked for his Dad & Uncle Herb Krees at their lumber company in Cache Creek, BC, Canada.

Going back to his first love, he returned to the United States, attending Mayflower Moving Company Driving School. He met Wyman Welch beginning a long friendship and and later business association with their own company in the moving business, Home bases were Twin Falls, Idaho: Provo then Orem, Utah and in 1988 moving to Ogden, Utah.

Carroll drove for several companies spent the last several years with National Van Lines up to a few months before his death. Carrolls record was outstanding and during his 50 years of driving he was awarded several “Good Driving” and “Driver of the Year” awards. Doing what he loved to do and doing a very good job!!!

Carroll is survived by his good friend and partner Marlene Welch, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Sisters, Colleen Simmons of Camarillo, California; Bonnie O”Sullivan and husband Dan of Summerland, BC; Marilee Kiley of Cache Creek, BC; Aunt Mildred Krees of Grants Pass, Oregon. Cousins in California and Minnesota: Nieces and nephews in BC and California.

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, July 15 at Aarons’s Mortuary 1600 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah.
