metzner: Ericka Erdmie Metzner of Cache Creek BC peacefully passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 89 years of age. She is survived by her son Dale (Elnor) Metzner of Cache Creek; daughter in-law Christine Metzner of Kamloops; grandchildren Christopher (Beth), Jennifer (Joe), Neil (Tracey), Bill (Shelley), and Paula (Jim); and numerous great grandchildren.Predeceased by her husband Glenn in 1992, son Melvin in 1993, and grandson Ashley 2005. Ericka was born in Morris, Manitoba on April 19, 1917. She married Glenn Metzner on September 25, 1935 and gave birth to two sons, Melvin and Dale. They moved to BC in 1957, residing in various locations around the province until finally settling in Kamloops where they retired. She spent the ast five years living with her son and daughter in-law, Dale and Elnor, in Cache Creek. Ericka and Glenn were active members of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church for many years. She was a member of the Quilting Guild, making many quilts over the years for various charities, and enjoying the camaraderie with fellow quilters. Rest in peace, we all love you. You will be missed. Visitation will take place from 7:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in the Rosewood Room at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 1:00 pm in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 815 Renfrew Ave. with Pastor Terry Sauder officiating. Following the service, Ericka will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial donations in Ericka’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers. Kamloops Funeral Home 554-2577.
