Hazel Vivian Lowe

Lowe – Hazel Vivian Lowe, a late resident of Ashcroft, passed away on June 17, 2006 at the age of 89 years.


Hazel was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 30, 1916 and moved with her mom and dad, Bill and Olive Sawyer, to Mission, B.C. where she met Eric Lowe whom she married and had 2 boys and 1 girl.


The family then moved to Silver Creek, B.C., to Hope and on to Spences Bridge.


In 1950 they moved to Ashcroft and started E. Lowe and Sons in the 50’s until Eric retired in the 70’s.

In September 2004, due to health problems, Hazel moved to Parkside Estates in Chase where she lived until December 2005. She developed more health problems and moved to Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops where she resided until her passing on June 17.


Hazel is predeceased by her husband Eric and son Ivan (Ivan Hoe) and she leaves to mourn her son Bernie (Cecile), daughter Vivian (Fraser) Ettinger, daughter in law Arleen, grandchildren Nadine, Corinna (Don), Dave (Tara), Debbie, Donald (Mary) , Darren, Scott (Ann), Rod and numerous great grandchildren, 3 sister in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.


A Graveside Service for Hazel was held on Saturday June 24th 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Ashcroft Cemetery with Rev. Ken Robinson officiating.


The family would like to thank all Parkside Estate and Ponderosa Lodge Staff for the exceptional care they gave Mom during her stay there.
