August 11,1929- April 03, 2017

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Travers Fisk on April 03, 2017. Travers was a man of many talents and even bigger accomplishments.

Travers was born on August 11, 1929 in Hollesly England. At the young age of 9 he and his brother Brian left England and the indescriminate bombing happening there. They were forced to take the last passenger liner to leave England unescorted, the Whitestar liner “Somaria”. Upon reaching Canada they travelled by train to Prince George where they stayed with his uncle and aunt until the end of the war. Travers then took a job with the department of Highways as a “stake artist” for a survey crew.

Travers took great pride in his work and his family. He spent the next 15 years surveying, ending up as a Resident Engineer. Leaving his survey job he bought and ran Ashcroft Manor, for many years, with his wife, Vashti. With his abundant energy he also worked on and eventually assisted in managing 5 ranches in the Ashcroft area.

You could always count on him to be the first to offer a helping hand or to give some sound piece of advice to those willing and able to keep up. Travers always had ideas and projects on the go and would execute them in such a meticulous and calculated way.

Even with all his accomplishments over the years it was pretty evident that Travers valued his family above all. He counted himself very lucky to have met the love of his life Vashti Parker so early on in his life. He was proud of the family they had created, his daughter Linda, and his three sons Barry, Doug and Ryan. As time went on Travers went from being dad to his kids to the world’s greatest papa to 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

His passing will leave a huge empty space for those who knew him but his legacy and lessons will never be forgotten.

In his later years when Travers wasn’t busy working on his beloved property in Oregon Jack Creek he was spending many hours perfecting his swing and, of course, mastering his game of golf. As such, the family thought it would be only too fitting to host his celebration of life at The Cache Creek golf course. As tribute a 9-hole shotgun golf tournament will begin at 10am on May the 28th 2017 followed by Celebration of Travers’ life at 12:30. Cost per person is $20 for the golf tournament. Flowers gratefully declined, the family asks that you make a donation to a charity that is near and dear to your heart in memory of Travers.
