Letters to the Editor

Readers write in praise of the dawn chorus and to thank the Cache Creek vet clinic

Dear Editor,

What threat the sounds of a cooing dove? The caws of a crow? A multitude of hymns and poems have been written, sung in praise of these sounds.

I know they little matter to deaf ears. But I write in praise to them this morning.

I am an early riser. For me, early morning is the most beautiful time of the day. If I could sing the praises of what I see and feel, my voice would rise to the clouds more gently than I could write about. To the rest of us who rise at dawn and take the time to look at the skies, Stephen Hawking’s advice to his children might surely echo.

This old woman heralds the gift of dawn. Not because I wish to live another day, but for the sheer beauty of the privilege of life.

Dear Editor,

We would like to send out a special thank you for the special treatment we received from Cache Creek Veterinary Clinic, when we suddenly lost our dog Shiloh recently.

They have always given us good service, but when we lost Shiloh they went “above and beyond”. Thank you.
