Flo Berry and her carpet bowling teammates exit after a match at last month’s tournament in Cache Creek

When all the plans are upset, you have to go to Plan B.

This is what happened Tues., Apr. 19 when a surprise birthday party was arranged for Pat Kirby.

She had an appointment wt the doctor, but he was called away for an emergency. We all waited and waited, but then we were informed she would come later.

Lunch was served and a half hour later, Pat arrived. She was a very surprised lady when she spotted all of her friends around the three tables. A lovely time was had by all and we enjoyed a chicken pot pie and salad. A lovely cake was served after lunch.

Thanks to Dorothy Maksymiw for the decorations and for the planning of this surprise.

Our monthly meeting was held on Apr. 21 with Dorothy Maksymiw in the Chair. The bowling tournament held at the Cache Creek hall went very well with teams coming from Little Fort, Barriere, Inter Lakes, Lillooet and, of course, Ashcroft. The good was grand and the folks enjoyed the friendly atmosphere as we rolled the balls.

Lion Joe Weremchuk gave a report on the Manor and said the parking lot is to be improved.

Our Strawberry Tea plans are all set for Sat., May 14 at the Seniors Centre, from 1-4 pm. Hope to see you all there.

Birthdays for April include Ida Makaro, Jack Kirkpatrick, Fritz Baatz, Marge Barron, Pat Kirby and Jessie Gaspard.

Lastly, a letter was read to inform us that Dorothy Maksymiw was resigning the position of president as of Apr. 21. Sorry to hear this.
