Nelson Leon and Alex Wells of Native Thunder Productions were at the 151st annual Clinton Ball on May 19, to perform traditional First Nations music and dance for the more than 130 guests in attendance. Nelson drummed and played the Native American flute, while Wells—a three-time hoop dancing world champion—gave a display of that dance form.

Those who missed the Ball can see Wells perform at the Exhibition of Learning at Cache Creek Elementary School on May 30. The performance starts at 7 p.m., and tickets are $10 for adulkts (children get in free).

Attendees of the Ball enjoyed a dinner prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #194, and danced the night away to the music of The Evergreen Drifters. A midnight dinner was served to the hardy souls who stayed dancing into the small hours.

Tickets for the 152nd Clinton Ball are now available. Email clintonannualball@clintonannualball for details.
