For a number of years, the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department has been sponsoring “Fire Chief for the Day”, with students in grades K–3 at David Stoddart School entered into a draw to be Fire Chief for the Day.

The winning students are picked up in the morning by the fire truck and driven to school, where they lead the school into class. After school they are escorted back home, and each “Chief” receives a smoke detector.

It’s a great opportunity for students to learn about fire safety and connect with the local volunteer firefighters, who play a very important role in the community. Thank you, Clinton Fire Department! This year’s fire chiefs were Ella Park and Noah Parsons.
