Date set for 80-plus luncheon

Luncheon set for Sept. 29

After we read the Minutes of the last meeting and sang O Canada, the Ashcroft-Cache Creek Seniors’ Association was in the mood for a short and light-hearted meeting on June 16.

Kitchen Financial Reports were given and Pat Kirby had to admit that she was out by one cent for last year. We all asked for her resignation but she said she would have to be out more than that so she could buy a coffee. All in fun, Pat, you better not quit!

All committee reports were in order and we are still having our carpet bowling as the favourite pastime.

Sunshine cards were sent out to six members. Hope you are all back in good health and happiness.

Pat Kirby presented  our bursary to Miranda Smith ad we all wish her the best in all of her endeavours. Our fun bowling day is to be held June 28. Lunch is 11:30, so be on time and ready to do some off type bowling. All in fun.

Our group would like to say “thank you” to Wendy at The Journal for all of her coverage of our events throughout the year.

July 1: Our group will hold the Bingo in the Park at Cache Creek. Just a fun day, so come out for that.

A motion on the floor to lower our age from 55 years to 50 years. It was put over until the September meeting so members can contemplate this throughout the summer.

Our 80-plus luncheon is to be held Sept. 29. Come out and honour our over 80s members.

Birthdays for June: Ellain Andres, John Holman, Dorothy Maksymiw, Loraine Shwaluk, Gena Stewart and Barb Yargeau.

If the weather stays cool we will stay open into July.
