Alexzine Johannsson, President of the Ashcroft Navy League, accepted a cheque for $1600 from Victor Paulos, manager of Safety Mart Foods in Ashcroft. The money was raised by Safety Mart in May during their long-running Community Rewards Program. Each year the store selects one local charity to benefit from the program, in which a percentage of the May sales of selected products throughout the store are donated to the chosen organization. The money will be used for activities of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets Corp. #347 Avengers, based in Ashcroft.
