Author Jean Griesser

Venables Valley author and photographer Jean Griesser has just published her third book on the Bhagavad-gita, describing  her and her family’s journey toward happiness and harmony.

Jean, her husband, and daughter were living ordinary lives in an ordinary home on an ordinary street in Los Angeles but, longing for something more, they gathered their savings and gumption and, in the summer of 1999, moved to a rustic homestead in Venables Valley.

Called Harmony and the Bhagavad-gita: Lessons from a Life-Changing Move to the Wilderness, Jean’s book tells the story of their journey and its seemingly cosmic but more often comic mistakes. Weaving the age-old wisdom of the Bhagavad-gita with contemporary concerns, her book explores the ecology, stewardship, interpersonal conflict, peaceful living, priorities, values.

Harmony gives readers a chance to find genuine meaning in the entertainment of a good story well told.

Jean has been studying and speaking internationally on the teachings of Bhagavad-gita, the spiritual guidebook of the East, for 37 years, and has written and illustrated two books as well as over 100 magazine articles on these teachings.

Harmony is available for sale at Ashcroft Work Wear, Nature’s Gifts, Karuna’s Wellness Studio, as well as Amazon.ca Find more information on Jean and her books at http://bhagavad-gita.ca/
