Lions welcome new members and executive

Membership has been declining, but the group hopes more people will come on board and join in the fun.

The Ashcroft and District Lions Club is roaring with three new members—Marina Aggiss, Kat Chatten, and Sue Peters—who were inducted on June 22. Two more members will be sworn in in September. The Lions’ membership has been declining, and the club recently lost two long-time members, Bob Cunningham and Ken Munro. It’s very exciting to have new people join, and the club is hoping this will be a trend, and more people will want to be part of the organization. The members work hard, but have a lot of fun doing it, and do a lot for people in the community, as well as supporting local projects. Anyone interested in joining should call Gordon Daily (457-6563) or Vivian Edwards (453-9077).

The Lions Club executive for 2016–17 was recently sworn in.
