Literacy group hosts family activities

Activities and prizes for Family Literacy Week, Jan. 23-28.

Bridging to Literacy is hosting Unplug and Play in which there will be free activities for families to enjoy. Activities will range from board games to exercises to story time to badminton to free skating. These activities will be held at Spences Bridge, Ashcroft, Cache Creek and Bonaparte.

There will be a draw every night and the lucky winner will receive a prize. All names collected at each activity will be put in for the Grand Draw on Saturday afternoon at free public skating at the Ashcroft Arena. Prizes include a Kobo e-reader, book gift certificate, board game, and  there could be more prizes added to the pot.

Please watch for posters, flyers, and other advertisements announcing dates, location, and times for each of the activities during the week of Jan. 23-28.

We encourage, even challenge, everyone to Unplug and Play for an hour or two each night during Family Literacy Week. Come on out and join us at the free activities that will be happening in our communities, have fun.
