At the stroke of midnight, more than 100 revelers toasted the New Year at Clemes Hall in Spences Bridge.
The dance floor was full all night long with an atmosphere of excitement with the anticipation of the new year approaching.
A lot of hootin’ and good natured hollerin’ filled the beautifully decorated room of white lights and organdy lace, plus a generous spread of food and munchies. My favourite was the apple cinnamon puffs.
Wichita Trip had us dancing all night long. They played a mix of great covers and original material ranging in style from Classic Country Honky Tonk to Western Swing. The band played their hearts out, mentioning it was the longest they have ever played, and it was the crowd that spurred them on.
Congrats to the Spences Bridge Community Club for a great time had by all!
Cummins releases premier CD
The new CD, Medieval Melodies & Traditional Folk Songs released by Karla Cummins is now available at Nature’s Gift in Ashcroft and at The Art We Are in Kamloops.

Creative Cow is back after a mid-winter break with House Concerts for music lovers in the Ashcroft area.
Cosy Sheridan with songwriter and multi-instrumentalist TR Ritchie will be coming through town on Saturday, Feb. 12 with music starting at 8 pm. Please phone to reserve your seat and for the house location for newcomers.
Cosy Sheridan has been called “one of the era’s finest and most thoughtful singer-songwriters.” A storyteller as well as a songwriter, she weaves children’s fables into metaphors of modern adulthood: The Little Engine That Could talks with Ferdinand The Bull. Support Grad Class ‘11 Extravaganza!
A 2011 Grad Dinner Fundraising Extravaganza will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Cache Creek Community Hall. Doors open at 5 pm with Dinner from 5:30-6:30 pm. ‘Taking pedal steel guitar out of its comfort zone’
Winding Rivers Arts & Performance Society hosts another fabulous Dinner/Concert on Sunday, March 20 with multi-instrumentalist and accomplished Canadian guitarist Steve Dawson. Specializing in slide and fingerstyle guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, banjo and other stringed instruments, he is in demand as a live performer, session musician, and Producer.
