Police blotter: Did you find a lost backpack?

Plus drugs seized, and a single-vehicle crash on Highway 97N.

Ashcroft RCMP responded to 36 calls for service during the week of August 19 to 25.

Drugs seized

Several traffic stops in Ashcroft and Cache Creek during the week resulted in seizures of small amounts of drugs. This is of concern, of course, for “impaired driving by drug”, which appears to be on the increase.

Lost BC Wildfire backpack

A backpack fell out of a truck between Cache Creek and the Big Sky Gas Station on August 22. The bag contained belongings used by one of the wildfire fire responders. The bag had “H.I.S.Wildfire” stitched on it. Please return it to your local RCMP detachment if you have located it. Ashcroft RCMP file 2017-1088 refers.

Single vehicle crash

On August 23, a single vehicle crash on Highway 97N which resulted in minor injuries. A truck and trailer were towed from the scene.
