Waste disposal is decreasing and recycling is increasing according to 2010 statistics compiled by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.

Between Jan. 27 and Feb. 4, Canadians from coast-to-coast will Play for Literacy in support of Family Literacy Day, an annual initiative developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada to encourage parents and children to spend at least 15 minutes enjoying a learning activity every day.

The Clinton Recreation Commission will meet on Monday, Jan. 24 at 7 pm in Council Chambers to discuss the upcoming Clinton Winterfest. Anyone interested in helping is welcome to attend. Any organization planning to host an event in the Winterfest should send a representative to the meeting.

Our Ashcroft-Cache Creek Seniors’ meeting on Jan. 20 was held a bit late as many of our members were attending the Citizen of the Year luncheon in Cache Creek to honour member Ida Makaro and Brian Bennewith.
