Ashcroft Arts Club member Gladys Dickinson discusses technique at a recent Arts Club Art Attack as local artists get ready for the annual Fine Arts Show and Sale.

Spring is in the air, and what better way to celebrate than with the vibrant splashes of colour on display at the 44th Annual Fine Art Show?

Club members have been hard at work honing their talents and using the new techniques learned at Art Attacks and information sessions throughout the year to create their masterpieces.

Now at last we will be celebrating with the opening of our Art Show and Sale on Friday, Apr. 15 from 6-9 pm in the St. Alban’s Hall at 401 Brink Street. We invite everyone to come and join us and meet your local artists.

With nearly 200 original works by 29 artists and photographers on display, there is sure to be something to interest all. Because of the large number of people attending, opening night is adults only. All ages are invited to take in the show as it continues from noon until 5 pm on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

As always, the public will be faced with the challenge of choosing a favourite and casting their ballot for the Peoples’ Choice and Students’ Choice Awards which are presented at the end of the show.

Our last meeting for the season will be on Wednesday, Apr. 27 and our activities will begin again in early October. The club will also be organizing the Ashcroft Art Walk again for July and August so watch for further details coming soon. See you at the Art Show!
