100 Mile House RCMP are seeking information on a shooting that occurred in Lac La Hache on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Reports of shots being fired came in at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Sgt. Brian Lamb said, along with reports of a person suffering from a gunshot wound at a residence on the 3700 block of Highway 97 in Lac La Hache. On arrival at the scene, Lamb said officers confirmed an adult male associated with the residence had been shot.

"The persons involved in the shooting were not at the scene and fled the area heading northbound on Highway 97 in what was believed to be a newer black truck," Lamb said. "At this time the suspects involved in the shooting remain outstanding."

Lamb said that emergency health services arrived and transported the gunshot victim to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening. RCMP then completed a search warrant of the residence where police reported suspected drugs and other related evidence was found.

"The incident is not believed to be random and it is believed that the persons involved are known to each other," Lamb said.

Lamb did not provide any further details or a description of the suspected shooter(s).

This investigation remains ongoing with 100 Mile House RCMP asking anyone with information on this shooting to call police at 250-395-2456 or anonymously 24 hours a day at Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at bccrimestoppers.com.
