Copies of the Journal can be found in boxes located outside the newspaper's office on 4th Street in Ashcroft, but subscribers in Ashcroft and Clinton will still get papers delivered to their post office boxes.

As the Canada Post Strike heads into its third week, the Ashcroft-Cache Creek Journal wants to update subscribers on where they can pick up their newspapers.

Subscribers in Ashcroft and Clinton should know that the post offices in those communities are still open and providing regular delivery of local items only. Copies of the Nov. 21 and Nov. 28 issues of the paper have been delivered to those post offices, and subscribers should find them in their post office boxes as usual.

Subscribers with a Cache Creek post office box will find their papers in a box located outside the Journal office on 4th Street in Ashcroft. The box is not locked, and papers can be picked up at any time.

Another box at the same location contains papers that can be picked up by other subscribers if they are in Ashcroft. Subscribers in Spences Bridge can pick up their copies at The Packing House.

"We're hoping to make it as convenient as possible for our subscribers,” says Martina Dopf, publisher of the Ashcroft-Cache Creek Journal. “I do want to remind all subscribers they have access to all our stories and our e-editions online; they just have to sign up with their email.

"We are very sorry for the delivery disruptions caused by the postal strike."

Subscribers can go online to the Journal website at https://www.ashcroftcachecreekjournal.com/ to create their free online account.

At this time there is no indication of when the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and Canada Post will come to an agreement. Delivery by mail will resume as soon as regular operation of the postal service resumes.

Anyone with further questions or concerns can contact the Journal office at (250) 453-2261. The office is open Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Outside those hours you can contact the 100 Mile Free Press office at (250) 395-2219.
