CN derailment in Ashcroft

There were no injuries in the event that saw eight empty lumber cars leave the tracks.

In the late evening of Sunday, June 5 eight empty lumber cars near the end of a CN train heading west out of Ashcroft derailed, closing the CN track for several hours while the cars were removed. No hazardous material was involved, and there were no injuries. A CN spokesperson said that the matter is under investigation and that if any changes in operating procedures are deemed necessary they will be implemented.
