Man in hospital after axe attack

A domestic dispute in Ashcroft could have been deadly.

A 52 year old Ashcroft man was arrested and has been charged with assault causing bodily harm after RCMP were called to a domestic assault on Jan. 10 at 9:30 pm.

Police attended the Ashcroft residence and found a 22 year old man bleeding and suffering from serious head injuries caused by an axe. He was transported to Kamloops’ hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anthony Paul Florence, 52, was charged with assault causing bodily harm and is being held in custody until his first court appearance on Jan. 19. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the incident.
