Lytton RCMP reports that sometime between December 3 and 5, thieves broke into Kumsheen Secondary School at the south end of Lytton on Highway 1.

The thieves targeted a CO2 laser cutter from the woodwork shop. This Epilog Mini 18 laser cutter was used to cut and engrave wood, plastic, and even stones.

The unit is currently useless to the thieves, as they failed to steal the accompanying computers (which have been relocated).

Lytton RCMP is appealing to the thieves to return the item, as it is well-used by the students at the school.

Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to call Lytton RCMP at (250) 455-2225, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Calls to Crimestoppers are anonymous.
