The Ashcroft RCMP reports that at approximately 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, the Subway restaurant in Cache Creek was broken into.

A double-pane window was smashed in order for the perpetrator to gain entry. The cash float was stolen, along with eight to 10 Subway gift cards that had not been activated and have no cash value.

Fresh footprints in the snow indicate that a single person is responsible. The person was wearing size 11-12 men’s boots with a distinct pattern. Police have attended and collected evidence at the scene.

Tracks in the snow indicate that the suspect may have walked to a vehicle parked behind the Castle Inn. Any witnesses are asked to please call the Ashcroft RCMP at (250) 453-2216, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
