On Sunday, Dec. 2 around 6:10 p.m., a female pedestrian who was walking across the intersection of Stage Road and Quartz Road in Cache Creek was struck by a blue four-door SUV/crossover-type vehicle.

The driver of that vehicle left the scene without stopping, and turned onto Highway 1 east towards Walhachin. The driver was described as an elderly female with curly, grey, shoulder-length hair.

It was determined that a male and female witness stopped to check on the pedestrian. Police believe that the two witnesses might have more information that could assist in the investigation, by identifying the driver of the fleeing vehicle. They are asked to call the Ashcroft RCMP detachment at (250) 453-2216.
