In Loving Memory ~
On Tues, Nov 1, 2022, Arnold Charles Edward Ward, loving partner, and father of 3 passed away at the age of 92.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn, his parents Archie and Jessie and his only sibling Jewel.
An avid lover of all motorized vehicles, it was only fitting that he spent his career as a gas mechanic. He owned everything from Harley Davidson motorbikes, several convertibles, a mini cooper, and a Lincoln, 2 planes, boats and later in life he enjoyed camping in motorhomes.
Born in Kapuskasing, Ontario on April 15, 1930, he spent his younger years enjoying motorbikes and cars until he met Evelyn when he was 24. They married 2 years later and had 3 children, Lyle, Laine, and Ken.
They moved to Ashcroft, B.C. and he was hired as the first gas mechanic at Highland Valley Copper. Arnold and Evelyn remained married for 34 years until Evelyn passed away from cancer.
A few years later he fell in love with Joyce, and they remained together for 30yrs, and she was at his side when he stepped on the gas pedal for the last ride to the other side.
Arnold was also known for his love of camping and his witty humor. He is survived by his partner Joyce, 3 children, Lyle, Laine, and Ken along with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Arnold requested no formal memorial but would be honored to know you have raised a glass of cheers in his memory.
In lieu of giving flowers, the family requests that those who are able instead to make a donation to Trinity Care, Palliative Unit at Overlander Extended Care, who treated him so well in his final ride home.
