Howard Barton Allan (Bart)

Dec 19, 1922 to Feb 28th 2010

Born in Kamloops B.C.

Left to remember, his wife of 63 years Doreen and his son Jim (Marlene) and daughter Barb ( Bill) and their children and many many relatives. Dad seemed to be related to everyone in the country….

He worked for West Coast Energy for 25 years and retired at 55 He loved to tell the story that he was retired way longer than he worked, and then would grin. Howard and Doreen enjoyed retirement to the fullest, traveling to Yuma, Arizona every winter for 30 years. Howard was a good husband, a good father and a good friend. He had a good sense of humour and loved to dance and sing. A few of his favourite songs were Red River Valley, Green Green Grass of Home and Frauline.

Howard was a common man but a prince to everyone who had the privilege to know him. He was a WW 2 veteran, a bronc rider, a horseman, a hunter, a kayaker, a hiker, a adventurer, and he loved to travel. He never liked to let any grass grow under his feet. Howard was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.

Howard’s smile lit up a room.

Yes, the loss of Howard Barton Allan is sad but he will live on in all our hearts & minds! May your memories of him be as wonderful as ours.

We will miss you Dad!
