Brian Michael Tanas

passed away peacefully at the age of 71 years at Jackson House Residential Care on July 5, 2015.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Laila, and children Edward William (Renee) Tanas of Calgary, and Katharine May (Benjamin) Bassarab of Riverview, New Brunswick. He is also survived by his brother Bernie and sister Rosann, his grandchildren Michael Tyler, Michelle Kayla, and Max Bassarab, Samantha Leanne Tanas,

Brian Weid, Devon Raynard & Melissa Raynard as well as great grandchildren Laya Tanas, Mackenzie and Chanelle Bassarab, Ricki and, Julian Raynard, and Kade and Cole Dalton.

He will also be remembered by his step children Kenichi, Keisha & King of the Philippines.

Brian was predeceased by his wife Carolyn Emily in 2007, and his son David Brian in 2004.

Brian was a long time employee with BC Rail, working as a car-man and diesel engineer. He loved to travel and had an amazing sense of adventure. Over the years he made many trips to Mexico, Cuba and the Philippines. He enjoyed golfing, and watching baseball, as well as his visits to the casino.

Celebration of Life Services took place at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Ashcroft.

Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
