Carlos W. Salinas Leon
11 September 1923 – 3 August 2006
Carlos Salinas of Ashcroft passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2006, at the age of 82, after a short illness.
Born in Santiago, Chile, Carlos immigrated to Canada with his wife Eliana in 1973. He worked for Bethlehem Copper Corporation Ltd. for 16 years, retiring from that company in 1989.
Carlos was pre-deceased by his younger brother Mario. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eliana in Ashcroft, his brother Jorge and wife Maruja, and two nephews and one niece, all in Santiago.
The Memorial Mass was celebrated at 1:30 pm on Friday, August 11, at St. Gerard’s Parish Church in Ashcroft, with Bishop Munroe officiating.
