David Frederick Shortreid passed away on May 05, 2018 in Victoria, B.C., at 75 years of age.
He survived by his wife Rosemary, son John (Audrey) Shortreid, daughter Bonnie (Michael) Shortreid; sister Pat (Lyle) Munro; grandchildren Mallory (Katy) Kryklywyj, Bryan (Dawn) Perreault, and Heather Lees.
David was born February 28, 1943 at Nanaimo, B.C. to Andrew "Fred" and Lorraine "Babs" Shortreid. As a youth, David was heavily involved with sports ranging from baseball to basketball. As a young man, he worked in the logging and redi-mix and gravel businesses. In 1977, David struck out and started his own sand and gravel delivery business called Telkwa Enterprises Ltd. in Telkwa BC.
David loved fishing and curling and being a family man. Unfortunately, David's condition of MS (Multiple Sclerosis) limited his abilities in the second half of his life. David was often seen at MS sponsored events in the Smithers and Kamloops area, but will be remembered most for his charming smile and quick wit.
A celebration of life event for David will be held between 12:00 and 3:00 PM on Saturday May 26, 2018 at St John Vianney Parish Hall at 2826 Bank Road, Kamloops BC.
