In Loving Memory ~
Donald Arthur Adamski (Don), took his last breath and passed away to rejoin his beloved wife, Marnie on June 26, 2024 at the age of 86. The both of them are flying together as Eagles, soaring high above us, to their Great Beyond and free of pain and suffering.
Don fought a short battle of cognitive decline due to complications of an undiagnosed stroke 3 years ago. The effects of which robbed him of his ability to speak. This was a great travesty that happened to such a large, boisterous "gift of the gab" amazing man.
Don was well-known for his magnificent personality, always having the gift of knowing and greeting every single person he met like they were family. He knew their children's names, their occupations, their special dates...he never seemed to forget a single detail. We always knew when Dad-Don went for the daily mail, he wouldn't be back for at least 2 hours, as he was personally greeting and catching up with everyone he met!
Don led an extraordinary life full of adventures, projects, family times, travel and several different career hats. The most recent career, along with the family Property Management business, was being the General Manager and initial instigator of the Ashcroft Tie Treating Plant, for many, many satisfying years.
Don was a unique and exceptional man....He and his wife Marnie were lifelong best friends, business partners, true soulmates, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Their travels took them all over Europe, extensive travel throughout their beloved Mexico and many parts of Canada. Don was continuously seeking the " next new adventure!" Don was incredibly attached and enamored with his 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Oh how his face would light up when one of them would come to visit! Every one of them would always look to find Grandpa for one of his "oh so special hugs".
One of Don and Marnie's most special adventure spots, or rather, their "Home away from Home", was in Ixtapa, Mexico, where they own their own special Piece of Paradise. They would travel there each and every year for 6 months or more. Upon Marnie's passing in 2017, Don was understandably devastated and lost for quite some time thereafter.
With Marnie's "pre-passing blessing", Don met a lovely partner, Yvonne Plewis, who generously and lovingly shared the past 7 years of his life with him. Yvonne brought sunshine to Don's life, where there were clouds before. The two of them enjoyed a very loving, healthy, fun filled lifestyle for several years, until Don fell ill a few years back. Don was blessed to have the loving care of Yvonne who was always at his side, right up until the end.
Don leaves behind his 3 children: Kelly (Cindy), Rocky, Deneen (Darrell Bordula) and their families.
A Celebration of Don's Incredibly Blessed Life is being held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Ashcroft, BC at the St. Alban's Anglican Church. Refreshments and sandwiches to follow in the reception room of the Church.
Dad, Don, Grandpa, Great Grandpa,....You too are Soaring Like a Bald Eagle and Reunited with Mom, and will always be a "Larger Than Life" part of all of the lives you have so lovingly touched.
