August 5, 2019
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emily Dillabough on August 5, 2019. Emily was born in Chilliwack, BC on February 19, 1928 to Percy and Eva DeLong. Emily moved to Clinton, BC in 1948, and spent her entire career teaching school. Teaching was her passion, and being able to teach young children to read and write brought her extreme joy. Emily retired from teaching in 1986, and spent her retirement years traveling, spending time with her family, and living life to the fullest.
Her gentleness, compassion, sincerity, and beautiful spirit touched many throughout her life, and will always be cherished. Emily is survived by her daughters Brenda Bolster of Clinton, Jacquie Dillabough of Armstrong, Colleen Langton (Clint) of Clinton, and her son Allan Dillabough of Provincetown, Massachusetts, 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Emily was predeceased by her husband Wes Dillabough, her daughter Weslynne Light, her grandson Peter Bolster, and her brother Harold "Ike" DeLong.
A celebration of her life will be held in the Reg Conn Centennial Park in Clinton, BC on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, it would be greatly appreciated if donations could be made to the South Cariboo Health Foundation in Emily's name.
