FRASER - GLADYS EVELYN (SANDY)

Sandy Fraser passed away peacefully on Oct.11th 2008 in the Extended Care Unit of the Ashcroft Health Site. Sandy (Gladys) was born in Rainy River, Ontario, trained as a nurse in Yorkton, Sask., Thunder Bay, Ontario and ‘landed’ in Quesnel, B.C., where she worked as a nurse and married Don Fraser. In Quesnel, six children were born to Sandy and Don. In March, 1960, the family moved to Ashcroft where she worked as an RN at the old Lady Minto

Hospital from 1960 until her retirement in 1981. She

was predeceased by her husband Don in Jan.1989. She is survived by her 6 children: Gerry (Annemarie),

Donella (Lorne Martindale) Gail (Murray Glover), John A (Sandy), Jamie, & Mark (MaryLou) as well as 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren & her brothers Stanley Sandmoen, Walter Sandmoen, Sister Claire Marr (Jerry) as well as several nieces & nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Extended Care Unit of the Ashcroft Health Site for their thoughtfulness and kind consideration given to our mom over the last 18 months. At Sandy’s request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society in Sandy’s name.
