Jack Christoff

May 23, 2007

CHRISTOFF, Jack Evan – Jack went to be with the Lord on May 23rd at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family in Ashcroft, B.C., after a

courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Vina Christoff for 45 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife, their four grown children and spouses, and their seven grandchildren: Anita Christoff; Jacqueline Bay (Kevin Bay); Barry Christoff (Mary Kapelus); Grant Christoff (Leah Hunter); Aaron Christoff; Mikayla Bay; Jenna Bay; Zachary Bay; Alexandria Bay; Madeline Christoff; and Meghan Bay. He will also be missed by his and Vina’s many close friends, some of whom were with them in the hospital until the end, including: Sandy and June Czorny; Jim and Dorothy Armstrong; and Jack and Cathy Jennissen. Jack was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, fish and hunt, and his children, grandchildren and friends have many precious memories of doing these things with him. His sons Barry and Grant and his grandsons Aaron and Zachary especially enjoyed their many fishing and hunting trips to Moberly Lake (the last one was this past summer) and all the hockey games he took them to play or watched with them over the years. Jack, who was retired after working on the railway for 40 years, most as a roadmaster, will also always be remembered for his love of family and friends and his generous, outgoing nature. His family extends sincere gratitude to Dr. McConville and the wonderful nurses in Ashcroft Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit for their care and kindness to Jack in his last days. A memorial service will be held at Cache Creek Pentecostal Church on Saturday, May 26 at 1:00 p.m.
