John Victor Epp passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House in Kamloops at the age of 71 years. He was born in Chilliwack, on May 29, 1945.

John is survived by his loving wife Alice, son Keith (Ramona), and daughter Wendy as well as grandsons Freddie and Jimmy Epp, Michael, Matthew and Markus Lysak, sister Rita Klassen of Kelowna, brother Bruno Epp of Chilliwack and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents John & Katie Epp, and brother Menno Epp.

In 1968 John met Alice and they were married in Chilliwack in 1969. They moved to Ashcroft to begin 48 wonderful years together. Their family grew when Keith was born in 1971. Two years later their family was complete when Wendy was born. As far as Keith and Wendy were concerned, he was the best Dad ever.

John worked for Sardis Explosives in Ashcroft starting in 1969. When that job ended he drove Greyhound and worked for the Department of Highways for a short time. In 1980, Dad started hauling ore from Highland Valley Copper with Arrow Transport, and continued until his retirement in November 2002. He did many trips up and down the hill and saw something new every day. Dad never had an accident in his career and received many safe driving awards.

In 2002 Dad was thrilled to become a grandpa for the first time, and that happiness grew with each additional grandson. He was so proud of all five grandsons and cherished each one of them. Freddie, Jimmy, Michael, Matthew and Markus have so many great memories of their grandpa and will miss him dearly.

In February 2017 Mom and Dad moved to Cottonwood Manor in Kamloops where they were very happy. Dad was fiercely loyal and loved his family deeply. We will all miss him dearly, but have so many great memories that we cherish.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support, especially Dr. Chip Bantock, the entire team at Ashcroft Medical Clinic and the incredible staff at Kamloops Hospice, who made his final days so very peaceful.

A Celebration of Life for John was held from 2-4pm on Saturday, May 20th from the Dogwood Room of Cottonwood Manor 730 Cottonwood Avenue, Kamloops.
