Joseph Arthur Chute passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home in Lytton, BC at the age of 91 years.
He was born on December 29, 1926 in Vancouver, BC. Joe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy, children Lyn (Dennis), Heather (Alan), Ross, Roger (Suzanne), daughter-in-law Carrie, twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joe was predeceased by his brother Raymond in 1955, and his eldest son Harvey in 2015.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 1:30 pm at Kumsheen Secondary School gym, Lytton BC. Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Bartholomew's Health Care Auxiliary, Box 697, Lytton, BC V0K 1Z0.
Joe lived in Vancouver until coming to Lytton in 1950 where he worked as a teacher and then a principal. He served as Mayor of Lytton from 1986-1999. Throughout his life, Joe pursued numerous and diverse hobbies, and contributed to his community in a variety of roles, but always considered his family his greatest legacy.
