GEREIN — With her family at her side, Kathleen Mary Ann Gerein, Nee O’Sullivan, passed away peacefully on April 5th at the age of 72.
Kath is survived by Otto, her loving husband of 52 years. Her children: Tom (Joanne) Gerein, Teri Ledoux (Tim) & Tami, (Mike) Jones. Grandchildren: Kendell & Carly Gerein, Oliver & Blake Ledoux, Shelan Kyndra & Kiana Jones, & her brother Dan (Bonnie) O’Sullivan. As well numerous nieces & nephews.
Predeceased by her parents: Rusty & Alice O’Sullivan, son Tim & son in law Mike Ledoux.
Kath was born June 6 1931 in Trail B.C. & married Otto on June 9, 1951 in Princeton, after being proposed to on the pitching mound during one of his games.
She was an avid sports fan & could be found at arenas & ball diamonds following her husband’s, and eventually her son & grandson’s games. She was a proud and vocal supporter.
Kath was an incredibly generous person with a warm and outgoing personality. Any visitors to her house were welcomed with a coffee & a bite to eat.
She was a very big part of our lives and will be sadly missed.
The family wishes to thank the nurses on 6 South & especially 3 West for the compassion and kindness you showed Mom. You helped us all through a tough time.
A memorial service was held on Sat. April 10 at 10:00 AM at St Gerard’s Catholic Church in Ashcroft. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Oncology Dept of Royal Inland Hospital 311 Columbia St Kamloops, B.C. V2C 2T1 in Mom’s name would be appreciated.
