In Loving Memory of Lenard Leroy Decook

September 25, 1933 - June 11, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son and brother, Lennie, on June 11, 2009, in Westbank, B.C. Lennie spent quite a few years in Ashcroft working at the mine and various other jobs. He will be laid to rest in Ashcroft Cemetery on September 25, with a family gravesite memorial. Lenard served with the Seaforth Highlanders in Germany during the “Cold War” for three years in the 50’s and was made a L/Cpl. during that time. Lenard had a great love of the fine arts and acted in several stage performances in Vancouver as well as authoring a three act play. He was a lover of ballet, the stage, symphony, medieval history and literature. Lenard enjoyed nature and the outdoors/wildlife as well as gardening/landscape. He was an ardent reader of history and literature. Lenard is predeceased by his father Frank, brother Jim and niece Teri (Bundus) and survived by his 95 year old mother, Audrey (Peachland); sisters Del & Joan (Peachland); and brother, Mel & (Lynn of Kamloops), Donna DeCook, sister-in-Law, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in the Ashcroft area. We, in Peachland will miss Lennie’s regular visits to our home to lovingly tend the vegetable garden and landscaping and the very interesting conversations we would have around the coffee table.

Mom, Del, Joan and Mel.
