Llew was born in Mission
on May 12, 1927
and sadly on June 22 this year
he left us to go to heaven.
He met Fay in 1949, and then they had
Bonnie, Penny and finally Paul in 1963.
Dad did his best to expand
the Cumming family tree.
Llew was on Ashcroft
committees galore,
the Ashcroft Museum, Stampede, Centennial,
Soap Box, Fall Fair and more.
He was a member of the Ashcroft Board of Trade
and alderman for the town
before he decided “enough is enough”
and stepped down.
He worked with his parents at the Ashcroft Journal,
the family paper,
until they sold out in 1978,
some years later.
Llew and Fay had a couple of businesses
before they were done,
Penny’s Fabric and The Print Shoppe
were hard work, yet fun.
As some of you know,
Llew’s love of poetry was simply sublime,
he could take any subject
and put it to rhyme.
This is why this obituary
is in this form,
simply because he was someone
out of the norm.
Llew was predeceased by Fay
and his grandson John.
His brothers Jerry and Terry
have also gone.
He is survived by Bonnie & Jim,
Paul & Nancy, Penny & Al,
brother Robert, other family
and some of his pals.
Grandchildren; Scott, Graham,
Bonnie and Trevor,
Great grandchildren; Kade,
Jordan, Nathan,
Avery and Ryan complete
the score.
“Dad wherever you wander
or wherever you are,
we will search the skies
for your bright star”.
