Lora Calbick

It is with great sadness and the fondest of memories that we announce the passing of Lora Denise Calbick on July 4, 2011 at R.I.H. in Kamloops. In 1997, Lora was predeceased by her mother Kathleen.

Lora was born May 6, 1967 in Vancouver, B.C. She was chosen by her loving mother Kathleen (Kay) and her father Gordon (Sam) Calbick. Throughout her life Lora lived in Vancouver, Tswassen and Cache Creek. She attended Overlander Secondary in Kamloops where she met many lifelong friends.

Lora was a very independent and determined little girl which served her well in later years. She was a fighter overcoming many obstacles in her young life. She had a great sense of humour which was enjoyed by all.

She was a true daughter, sister and friend who had a natural, kind and gentle manner with children and animals.

She is very loved and will be greatly missed by her father Gordon; her brothers; Jerry (Susan) DiCastri, Barrie (Britta) DiCastri; her sisters Karen (Ted) Wilson, Sharon (Wade) Webster, Lynda (Alfred) Lay; her “other” mother Kirsten McDougall; her many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to B.C. Children’s Hospital or the SPCA.

A celebration of Lora’s life will be held on Sunday July 10, 2011 from 2:30 to 4:30 at the Elks Lodge 784-B Victoria Street, Kamloops, B.C.
