Lyle Evans Harkness

Harkness - Lyle Evans passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2004.


Born May 27 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, he is survived by his loving wife Elaine, his daughter Alaen (Stephen) Metheringham, grandchildren Keegan and Ryan Metheringham and Ryan Phenix, sister Louella and brother Elwood. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Myrle and Bob and his grandson Damas.


Lyle was a steelworker, bridgman and carpenter and worked throughout BC. He moved to Cache Creek in 1960 and became a founding member of the Cache Creek Volunteer Fire Department in 1962. He was an honorary member at the time of his death. He retired in 1965.


Lyle was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ashcroft Branch and could be found there teaching everyone how to play crib. He will be missed by his family and friends.
