Marie passed away at the Kamloops Seniors Village on March 18, 2005.
Marie Collins (nee Hoppe) was born in Coaldale, AB on June 10, 1927. Living in the Chilliwack/Abottsford area, Marie moved to Vancouver where she met and married John F. Collins. Together they settled in Cache Creek where they built and operated the Desert Motel.
A Lifetime Member, Marie was involved with the Ashcroft & District Hospital Auxiliary.
Predeceasing Marie were her husband John F. Collins; her brothers Frank and Dan and two sisters; Ella (Klassen) and Laura (Hoppe).
Surviving her is her daughter Karen of Mt. Vernon, son Jon (Eileen) of Cache Creek, her six grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three sisters; Alice Hoppe of Kelowna; Susan Moore and Bertha (David) Vogt of Chilliwack.
Marie will be laid to rest in Ashcroft and the family will have their time of reflection and remembrance.
