LEBLANC, Marie Rose Angeline

April 14, 1936 – February 19, 2009

On Feb. 19, 2009, in Kamloops, B.C., Marie Rose Angeline LeBlanc passed away and is now at peace following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 72. Marie is survived by her children: Brenda (Tyler) Greenstreet; Debbie (Wayne) Jackson; Jerold LeBlanc and Ken (Lisa) LeBlanc. Marie had six grandchildren: Taia and Dayton Jackson; Danielle and Nicole Greenstreet and Jace and Bryce LeBlanc. Marie was predeceased by her parents Alice and Ernest LaMarche as well as brothers Len and Lorrie. She is survived by her sisters Lauranna Bergevin, Adele Ireson,

Loretta Aspen, Denise (Neil) Roe, and her brother Ivan (Cecile) LaMarche. Marie was born April 14, 1936, in Legal, Alberta, and lived a good portion of her youth in Slave Lake, Alberta. She became an LPN working first in Edmonton, AB. and finished her career in Ashcroft, B.C. at the Lady Minto Hospital. She married in the early 60s, living both in Kamloops and Ashcroft for many years. It was during this time that she provided a loving and caring family environment to not only her four children, but countless others. She always took in those who had been turned away, and she never was one to pass judgment. After her separation in the 70’s she spent time in Ashcroft, Edmonton and then Kamloops where she remained for the rest of her days. Her love of cooking produced scrumptious dishes like perogies, cabbage rolls, French Canadian meat pies and butter tarts. She had a knack for canning and her dill pickles were a treasured treat. Sewing, crocheting and gardening were also some of her special gifts that she passed onto her children. A special thank you to Dr. Susan Vlahos for her loving care and friendship and the staff at the Kamloops Hospice Association especially nurse Kelly. A celebration of her life will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive on Wednesday, February 25,2009 at 1:00 pm In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whitesheild Cr., South, Kamloops BC V2E 2S9.
