Jan 23, 1929 - Feb 21, 2018
Marion passed away peacefully February 21, 2018. She was born in Toronto Ontario on January 23, 1929.  She moved to Vancouver in October of 1940 at the age of 11. She worked  for Nabob Coffee at the age of 13  and  then at the Owl Drug Store on 41st and Granville where she met and later married Denzil Gainor in 1947.

After moving from the coast, they settled in Forest Grove for a couple of years then moved to Clinton. Marion and Denzil raised four children, spending their summers at their property the Katsas on Green Lake. She worked for Mya's Bakery and later the B.C. Forest Service.

Marion was predeceased by Denzil in 1986 and was then pursued by Herbert Reeder in 1988 marrying in 1989. Marion did many holidays in her life time, visiting Hawaii and Mexico with Denzil. Fiji, Alaska, California, Australia and New Zealand with Herb.

She had a passion for playing golf and though her health never allowed her to play in the later years she still reminisced of the good times she would have and how much she missed it. She moved to Ashcroft in 2011 to be closer to Herb as he was in Ashcroft Long Term Care. Herb passed away in 2013 and Marion moved to the Thompson View Manor Assisted Living. She loved the staff there and in return they loved her back, replying "We wish we had 10 Marion's".

The family would like to thank the staff for their incredible kindness and wonderful care they gave our mother.  Mom always participated in the activities that the home provided, and the Thursday afternoon game of "Hand and Foot" was one of her favorites.

Marion was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to all. She lit up a room with her smile and her love, kindness and sincerity were her greatest attributes.

She is survived by her four children Dean (Chrissie), Carol (Rolly), Bruce (Connie), Gail (Bill) and numerous grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two grandson's Bruce Higginbottom (2015) and Darren Gainor (2017). Marion had a long and full 89 years, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace Mom.

Celebration of life will be held at the Clinton Community Hall on April 14, 2018 at 2 pm. Tea to follow.
