PRINGLE, Donna Meta

On Tuesday June 2nd, Mrs. Donna Meta Pringle of

Oliver passed away peacefully in Oliver at the age of 79. Donna will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her and especially by her four children, Lorne, Bernie, Ann and Jane as well as by her ten grandchildren, two great grand children and her brother Lorne Bockhold. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Don Pringle in 1988. Donna was born and raised in Vancouver. Upon graduation she spent two years teaching in the B.C. interior at which time she met her husband, a mining engineer, in Hedley, B.C. She then spent her child rearing years in various mining communities including, Copper Mountain, Britianna Beach and Highland Valley, Ashcroft. Upon their retirement in 1968 they purchased what became known as the Don Ranch, in the South Okanagan. After her husbands death in 1988 she moved into Oliver where she began to seriously pursue and enjoy her hobby of quilting. Over the next twenty years she won many local and national awards for her quilts and scenic wall hangings. She was actively involved in the Oliver Arts Council and was a founding member of the Double “O” Quilters of Oliver/Osoyoos. Donna was a very gracious, loving, gentle person who assisted and inspired many while at the same time avoiding the limelight. Her home was the heart of the family, the place everyone always came back to and now she will be greatly and sorely missed by us all. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2009 at her home 36216 79th St. Oliver. Arrangements entrusted to Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service & Crematorium, Oliver & Osoyoos, BC.
