In loving memory ~
Our beautiful and kind daughter, sister, auntie, great auntie, and friend passed away at the age of 59. Sharon Gail Ambler was born on September 14, 1965 at the Ashcroft BC Lady Minto hospital. She is survived by her mother Virginia Ambler, her siblings: Debbie (Dale)Wheeldon, Jeff (Mary) Ambler, Randy (Eileen) Ambler, Bruce (Terry) Ambler, and Ginni (Chris) Griffin, her 16 nieces and nephews, and 27 great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Thomas Ambler.
Sharon grew up at Maiden Creek B.C. on a small farm with her family. She was a cute, sweet, little blonde girl with beautiful ringlets in her hair. She attended her school years in Clinton and Ashcroft BC, where she met many wonderful lifelong friends. Sharon loved being involved in sports, majorettes, and the 4-H beef club, as well as attending Bible camp every summer.
After high school, Sharon attended Okanagan Bible College in Kelowna BC for four years, attaining her Bachelor of Religious education Degree. This is also where she continued to grow her beautiful singing voice and her love for God and the Bible. She sang and toured with the choir, as well as smaller singing groups. Her friends were always extremely important to her and she is fondly remembered as being compassionate, loyal, kind, funny, and just a lot of fun to be around.
Sharon moved to Vancouver and lived with some of her closest friends and worked for a few years there for Crown Wallpaper until being transferred to Calgary to work in their showroom. She enjoyed her job and also loved volunteering in her church as a youth leader. Sharon continued to use her gift of music to lead worship and sing in the choir, as well as many other events. She gained many wonderful friendships while she lived in Calgary and with those friends, she shared the love of music, theater, dinner parties, and so much more.
Sharon eventually took on a full-time position at Center Street Church as a youth pastor. She loved and cared for those youth like they were her own, and she demonstrated to them the importance of walking through life with Jesus, seeking His wisdom and direction in their lives. She was compassionate and kind to others, and she always modeled this in such a beautiful way to these young men and women. Her zest for life with Jesus was contagious and these youth remember her for those qualities.
Around 2013, Sharon felt a call to move back home. In 2014, she moved back to Maiden Creek to live with her mom and dad and to once again help out on the farm. Living there brought her back closer to family, cousins and old friends. She enjoyed that so much! They remember her as being funny, a shining light, loyal and someone who took the time to listen.
Sharon spent some time working at the Bonaparte winery which she had a lot of fun doing, before settling into a job at the Clinton Home Hardware store. There she enjoyed meeting and helping people and working with her colleagues.
Sharon kept sharing her lovely voice by singing at her church, in the choir, during musicals, at weddings and funerals, and wherever she had the chance to perform. She cherished her involvement in the Clinton Community and also pursued her passion for photography.
Her friends remember her as fun and very easy to talk to. Many enjoyed meaningful friendships and conversations with her. We will all remember her big smile and beautiful voice.
Sharon, your big loving family and dear friends miss you deeply. You battled this sickness so heroically, giving us all more time to spend with you. Rest in peace, our beautiful and precious Sharon. We find comfort knowing you are no longer in pain, and knowing you are in the presence of our wonderful Savior Jesus, as well as many relatives and friends! We know you heard Jesus say at the gates of heaven as He welcomed you in, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." We will see you again one day, our dear sweet Sharon.
Until we meet again
