Good neighbours are deeply appreciated and recognized

Writer gives a big Christmas Bouquet of roses to Dave and Sharon Johnson of Cache Creek.

Dear Editor

Every once in a while we meet someone who touches us very deeply by giving up their time and energy just to bring a little joy and happiness to someone a little less fortunate - sometimes just to stop by and say “hi” to a housebound shut-in like me, or running errands for people who can’t get out. We don’t always show the appreciation or respect that these people deserve.

Today I want to send a great big rose to Dave and Sharon Johnson for their contributions to the less fortunate of our community.

When I was in the hospital for nearly eight months last year, every time they came to Kamloops they would stop up and say hi or see if I needed anything, and just last summer Dave brought a beautiful rhubarb coffee cake by, and before Christmas Sharon came by with some fresh homemade buns and to wish us a Merry Christmas.

On Christmas Day they hand delivered 15 Christmas turkey dinners complete with all the trimmings to people who would have had a very lonely day without their thoughtfulness or a cheery word. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for being there and giving so much to our community and give you the recognition that you so richly deserve.
