On April 5 some 56 carpet bowlers, representing Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Barriere, Kamloops, 100 Mile, Little Fort, Clearwater, Lillooet, and Interlakes came together in Cache Creek for a fast-paced, fun-filled tournament. The players mixed and matched to make up 14 teams, ensuring that old friendships were renewed and new ones formed amid the good-humoured rivalry. There were three 50/50 draws, as well as draws for a gift basket and prizes donated by local businesses and individuals. Anyone interested in taking up the sport can drop by the Ashcroft/Cache Creek Seniors’ Centre in the Village Office building on Bancroft Street in Ashcroft, where the game is played weekly.
