The Ashcroft Library is offering a free three-session scrapbooking course taught by branch head, Deanna Porter.

This course is perfect for those that have never scrapbooked before and would like to start, or for those that are well versed in scrapbooking, but would like to get more tips and ideas, she says.

The classes start today (Oct. 11) and will also be held on Oct. 18 and 25 from 2 to 4 p.m.

People attending the classes are asked to bring their own supplies.

“You will need to bring pictures (no more than 10-12), plus anything you would like to include, such as post cards, ticket stubs, brochures, or anything else you have to showcase the event.

“If you do own a 12-inch paper trimmer or scrapbook adhesive, please feel free to bring them.”

The first class (Oct. 11) will consist of scrapbook basics and a hands-on opportunity to start making your first page or two, Porter explains.

The class will begin with 20 minutes of discussion and viewing materials, and the remainder of the time will be for working on your pages.

Call the Ashcroft Public Library at 250-453-9042 to register, she says, adding “or just drop in and scrap your heart out!”
